Environmental alarm profiles are supported on Tellabs 1134/OLT6 and Tellabs 1150 NEs.

  • On the Tellabs 1134, the ESU30 or ESU32 supports eight (8) alarm contacts (i.e., the first eight contacts defined in the profile).
  • On the Tellabs 1150 MDS5, the AMU1 supports 16 alarm contacts.
Information Note 1: This procedure does not apply to Tellabs 1150 MDS7. The MDS7 does not support the AMU1.
Information Note 2: During the Add ONT process, EMS automatically assigns the defaultEnvAlarmProfile to ONTs.

Use the following procedure to change an environmental alarm profile assignment:

  1. In the Common Tree, select the OLT to apply Enviromental Alarms.
  2. Right-click the OLT, and from the pop-up menu, select Properties.

  1. In the ONT property dialog, click the Env Alarm tab. (The ONT TID is in the title of the ONT property dialog.)
Information Note: When assigning an alarm profile to a Tellabs 1134/OLT6, the Env Alarm tab displays the first eight (8) alarm contacts in the profile (the ESU30 supports eight (8) alarm contacts only). If any additional contacts are defined in the profile, they are not applied to the Tellabs 1134.

  2. In the Profile Name field, click the drop-down arrow and select the environmental alarm profile to be assigned to this NE.

  1. Select the Alarm Contact number and click the Alarm Reporting field. In the drop-down select Active or Inactive.
Information Note: When necessary, click the Activate All or Deactivate All buttons to apply the same changes to all contacts.
  2. After activating the required alarms click on the Apply button.
  3. EMS applies the profile and displays a confirmation message. Click on the OK button to continue.
  4. Click on the Close button to finish the Access Alarms session.
