Backup and Restore

An administrator can incorporate the backup script into the operating system’s scheduler application. This is an efficient way to back up the Panorama PON EMS and the OLT data during off-hours.

Although backup times vary from system to system, a complete backup for a large Panorama PON EMS installation could take up to an hour or more.

Note: Automated Panorama PON EMS database and NE backups can be executed from Windows server installations only.

There are three possible methods used to perform a Panorama PON EMS database backup for the Windows platform:

• Automated - Scheduled
• Manual - Interactive
• Manual - Command Prompt

Panorama PON EMS does not need to be shut down to perform a backup. The following sections provide information on backups.
