Change Password
The passwd command allows the user to reset their password.
- Command Path - passwd
- Command Path - olt user passwd (OLT2 only)

Note: **=olt user - Add olt user to the CLI Command Path for OLT2.
- To change a user password, from the ESUx> command line, input ** passwd, and press Enter. Output similar to the following is displayed:
ESUx> ** passwd <enter> Enter current password: _
- Input the userid, and press Enter. The Password Policy information and prompt is displayed. For example:
Password Policy: - Password must: contain at least 2 upper case letters, 2 lower case letters, 2 numbers, and 2 special characters have no character repeated consecutively 3 times be different from the prior password by at least 4 characters not contain any form of the UserID, forwards or backwards - Password must be a minimum of 15 characters for Admin users. - Password must be a minimum of 9 characters for non Admin users. - Password must not exceed 30 characters. - Password cannot be the same as previous 8 passwords. Enter New Password: _

Note: The password history rule applies. The password cannot be the same as the previous 8 passwords. - Input the new password value as required above, and press Enter. The following prompt is displayed.
Confirm New Password: _

Note: The password entry is case-sensitive. The password entry is not displayed on the screen. -
Input the same new password value again, and press Enter. The following message confirms that the password has been changed.
User password successfully reset. ESUx> _

Note: If the New Password and Confirm New Password entries do not match, the following message appears. If this happens, repeat Step 3 and Step 4 to reset the password. Passwords do not match, please re-enter New Password!
