Configuring and Activating ONTs

Tellabs 1131, Tellabs 1134, and Tellabs 1150 OLTs support Voice, Ethernet, and RF video services via Tellabs 1100 Series Optical Network Terminals (ONTs).

When a OLT slot is provisioned, the OLT pre-provisions the following for each ONT, as applicable for the ONT type:

  • The ONT serial number (default TSLS00000000)
  • One, two, four, eight, or twenty-four Ethernet ports
  • Two or twenty-four voice lines
  • One radio frequency (RF) video port

Panorama PON supports ONT activation using the factory-programmed ONT Serial Number as described further in this section.

Note: In addition to provisioning the serial number, this procedure describes the steps required to configure the VoIP session initiation protocol (SIP) host and RF video port for an ONT.

Use the following procedure to configure and activate a GPON ONT:

  1. In the Common Tree, double-click the OLT to expand.
  2. Right-click the ONT and select Property from the pop-up menu. .
  3. The ONT Port Property dialog is displayed, defaulting to the Configuration tab selection.

  4. From the ONT Property dialog, the following ONT-related attributes can be viewed or edited:
Note: Only tabs representing the functions of the selected ONT will be shown.
