Create
Use the following procedure to Create an Enviromental Alarm Profile:
- In the Alarm Profiles dialog screen, click the Create a New Profile (
) icon in the Main Menu bar. The Create Enviromental Alarm Profile dialog is displayed.

- In the Create an Enviromental Alarm Profile dialog, refer to the Environmental Alarm Profile Attributes table below and fill in the fields as desired to create the alarm profile.
Field Description Profile Name Each profile must have a unique profile name. This value is user-defined. Characters can be alphabetic or numeric, and may include hyphens (-), or underscores (_). Enter up to 40 characters with no blank spaces.
Note: This attribute cannot be changed after the profile has been created.
Alarm Input Displays the alarm input number, which is the alarm contact closure number at the OLT. Define up to 16 alarm contacts per profile.
Note: The Ethernet Switch Unit (ESU30) supports up to eight (8) alarm contacts (i.e., the first eight contacts defined in the profile). The Alarm Maintenance Unit (AMU1) in the Tellabs 1150 MDS5, supports up to sixteen (16) alarm contacts.Description Enter a free-form text description (up to 32 characters) for the alarm condition. Example entries are AC Power Failure and Battery Failure. When the alarm is reported, EMS displays this text in the Additional Text column in the Alarms view. Condition Type Enter the TL1 condition type text (up to 20 characters). This is the provisioned TL1 notification code that is sent to Telcordia’s Network Monitoring and Analysis System (NMA) for this alarm. The entry is free-form text with no spaces. Use any printable character except a caret (^). When the alarm is reported, EMS displays this text in the NMS Probable Cause column in the Alarms view. Severity Select the appropriate severity level for this alarm condition (Critical, Major, Minor, or Not Reported). Service Affecting Define whether this alarm condition is service-affecting (Yes or No). -
When all the fields have been filled in, click on the Apply button.
- Panorama PON displays the Env Alarm Profile Create Status dialog.

- The Env Alarm Profile Create Status will be displayed, and the new profile name will be displayed after the New Enviromental Alarm has been installed.

Click the Env Alarm Profile Create Status Close button to finish the Create dialog.

Click the Create an Enviromental Alarm Profile Cancel button to finish the session.
