Create Equipment Selector

Use the following procedure to Create an Equipment Selector template:

  1. On the Template screen, with the Equipment Selector tab active, click the Create a New Template () icon in the Main Menu bar. The Create Equipment Selector Template dialog is displayed.

  2. In the Create Equipment Selector Template dialog, refer to the following table and fill in the fields as desired to create the Ethernet Port Template.
     

    Option

    Description

    Selector Name

    Specify a name for this selector, Allowable characters include up to 32 alpha-numeric characters, the underscore (_), and/or hyphen(-). This is a required field.

    AID Range

    ONT Type

    Select the ONT Type for this selector. Default is ANY. Select from ANY, ONT120C and ONT120W, ONT702, ONT703, ONT704/714, ONT705, ONT709, ONT728, ONT729, ONT729GP and ONT140C and ONT140W.

    Note: If a specific ONT is selected, only that ONT Type is affected by the selector.

    AID Type

    Select from Shelf, Slot, PON, ONT, Port, default is Shelf. This sets the granularity of the following options.

    I/O Slot

    If AID Type is set to Shelf, enter the input/output (I/O) slot this selector is to be applied. The range is 1-16.

    Note 1: Entering an asterisk (*) indicates any I/O Slot on the shelf.

    Note 2: If the slot number entered exceeds the number of slots on the shelf, i.e., if set to 16 and this selector is applied to a Tellabs 1134 OLT, the selector is never used.

    PON

    If AID Type is set to Shelf or Slot, enter the PON port this selector is to be applied. Range is 1-4 (QOIU7).

    Note: Entering an asterisk (*) indicates any PON on the card in the selected I/O Slot.

    ONT

    If the AID Type is set to Shelf, Slot, or PON, enter the ONT this selector is to be applied. Range is 1-32.

    Note: Entering an asterisk (*) indicates any ONT on the PON.
    Port

    If the AID Type is set to Shelf, Slot, PON, or ONT, enter the Ethernet port that this selector is to be applied. Range is 1-24.

    Note 1: Entering an asterisk (*) indicates any Port on the ONT.

    Note 2: If the port number entered exceeds the actual number of ports of the physical ONT, (i.e., if set to 24 and ANT Type is ONT709), the selector is never used.
    Number of Equipment

    Enter the number of pieces of equipment this selector is to be applied.

    The entered number represents which piece(s) of equipment of the last non-blank entry of I/O Slot, PON, ONT, or Port. If the last non-blank entry is 4 and the Number of Equipment is set to 6, this selector is applied to 4 through 10, the last non-blank entry plus the Number of Equipment value.

    Examples:

    •    AID Type is Shelf, I/O Slot = 4, and Number of Equipment = 4

    Selector is applied to any ONT Port, on any ONT, on any PON, of the I/O cards in I/O Slots 4 through 8, on the shelf.

    •   AID Type is Shelf, I/O Slot = 4, PON = 2, Number of Equipment = 2

    Selector is applied to any ONT Port, on any ONT, on PON ports 2 and 3, of the the I/O card in slot 4.

    •   AID Type is Shelf, I/O Slot = *, PON = 2, ONT = 16, Number of Equipment = 16

    Selector is applied to ONTs 16 through 32, on PON port 2, of any installed I/O card.

    AID Type is Shelf, I/O Slot = 1, PON = 2, ONT = 16, Port = 3, Number of Equipment = 2 Selector is applied to ONT ports 3 and 4, on ONT 16, on PON port 2, of the I/O card in slot 1.
    First AID

    Displays the first AID affected by the AID Type, I/O Slot, PON, ONT, and Port selections.

    Note: An asterisk (*) indicates any I/O Slot, PON, ONT, and/or Port was selected above.
  3. When all fields are filled in, click the Apply button.

  4. When the new Equipment Selector appears in the Selector Names list, click the Cancel button to close the Create Equipment Selector dialog.
