Delete OLTs

ALERT 1! Do not delete an NE from Panorama PON while the NE is in the process of completing a software switch. Doing so can create an unrecoverable condition that leaves the NE in a pending state and unable to communicate with the Panorama PON.

ALERT 2! To perform this procedure, the user must be logged in at the Admin Security level.

The following restrictions apply to deleting an OLT NE:

• An NE with voice cross-connections is service-affecting. When voice cross-connections exist at the NE, Panorama PON deletes all connections at both endpoints before deleting the NE. Connections that span between two NEs are deleted from both NEs.
• An NE with voice cross-connections can take several minutes while Panorama PON deletes all the connection endpoints.

  Note: The Panorama PON client is locked out during this operation.

• An OLT with a timing server, or timing client association, also deletes the association between both systems. For related information

Use the following procedure to delete one or more network elements.

1. From Panorama PON, in the Common Tree, select and right-click the OLT to be deleted. Select Delete from the drop-down menu.
   
   
2. A Warning message is displayed stating that voice connections are to be deleted.
   
   
3. If the selected OLT will be deleted click the Yes button. The message that the OLT was successfully deleted
   
   
4. Click the OK button. The OLT is removed from the Common Tree.
