Edit
Any environmental alarm profile (including the default profiles) can be edited; however, only one profile can be edited at a time. When editing a profile, updates are automatically pushed to all ONTs that are using the edited profile. The following internal actions are performed by Panorama PON:
- The edited profile is saved to the server database and generates an internal list of all ONTs using the profile.
- The profile updates are then pushed downstream and changes are applied to each ONTs using the profile.
The following environmental alarm profile attributes can be edited:
- Description
- Condition Type
- Severity

Caution: This procedure is momentarily service-affecting all connections associated with the profile. The profile change causes a re-synchronization of the connection.
Use the following procedure to edit an Environmental Alarm profile:
- Select the Profile Name from the Profile/Template List to edit and click the Edit a New Profile (
) icon in the Main Menu bar or right-click the profile name and use the pop-up menu to select Edit. The Edit Enviromental Alarm Profile dialog is displayed.

- In the Edit Enviromental Alarm Profile dialog, refer to the Environmental Alarm Profile Attributes table and fill in the fields as desired to edit the alarm profile.
- When all the fields have been edited, click on the Apply button.
-
Panorama PON displays the Environmental Alarm Profile Edit Status dialog.

-
If it is necessary to perform other client activities, the Environmental Alarm Profile Edit Statusdialog can be moved or closed. The process continues in the background.

- To open and monitor the Environmental Alarm Profile Edit Status dialog again, click the View Edit Status (
) icon in the toolbar.
If the process has finished with no errors, EMS displays the message Profile Edit is not in progress. If this happens, click on the Ok button. -
If errors occur, the exceptions are listed in the Error Status section. Perform one of the following actions:
- Click on the Retry button to update these NEs again.
- Click on the Terminate button to abort the process with errors.

Note: Typically, these OLT errors are caused by a loss of communication between the EMS server and the OLT.
- When terminating the process with errors, a warning message confirms that the process was aborted. In the dialog that appears, click on the Ok button.
-
When finished, click on the Close button.
- Click on the Close button again to close the Profile Tool.
