Edit
Any DSCP Mapping profile (including the default profile) can be edited. When editing a DSCP Mapping profile, Panorama PON automatically updates all OLTs that are using that profile.
Edit a DSCP Mapping profile as follows:
- Panorama PON saves the edited profile to the server database and generates an internal list of all OLTs using the profile.
- Panorama PON sends the profile updates to the OLTs that use the profile.
- Panorama PON deactivates and reactivates each connection to re-synchronize the with the provisioned settings.
Only one profile can be edited at a time.
This procedure is momentarily service-affecting to all connections associated with the profile. The profile change causes a re-synchronization of the connection.
Use the following procedure to edit an DSCP Mapping profile:
- Select the Profile Name from the Profile/Template List to edit and click the Edit a New Profile (
) icon in the Main Menu bar or right-click the profile name and use the pop-up menu to select Edit. The Edit DSCP Mapping Profile dialog is displayed.

- In the Edit DSCP Mapping Profile dialog, edit the P-Bits as desired for the network behavior change, and click on the Apply button.
- An empty DSCP Mapping Profile Edit Status will be displayed during the update, to be followed by the status.
Note 1: If it is necessary to perform other client activities, the DSCP Mapping Profile Edit Status dialog can be moved or closed. The process continues in the background.
Note 2: To open and monitor the DSCP Mapping Profile Edit Status dialog, click the View Edit Status icon (
) in the toolbar. If the process finishes with no errors, Panorama PON displays the message Profile Edit is not in progress.

- When finished, with no errors reported, click on the Close button.
If errors are reported, the exceptions appear in the Error Status section. Do one of the following:
- Click Retry to update these OLTs again
- Click Terminate to end the process with the errors.
Note: Typically, these OLT errors are caused by a loss of communication between the Panorama PON server and the OLT,
- When terminating a process with errors, a warning message confirms that the process was aborted. In the dialog that appears, click on the OK button.
Note: Manual synchronization can be performed to update these OLTs. However, if the errors were caused by a communication loss, Panorama PON automatically performs a mini synchronization when communication is restored.
- When finished, click on the Close button.
-
If no further profiles are to be created, click on the Cancel button to close the Edit DSCP Mapping Profile dialog.
- When finished, click on the Close button.
- Click on the Close buttonagain to exit the Ethernet Port Profiles screen.
