ONT140W Installation in Enclosure
Enclosure Installation Preparation
The following items will be needed for this procedure:
| Part Number | Description | Comments |
|---|---|---|
| 81.11G-ONT140WN-R6 | ONT140W ONT electronics with wall faceplate. | Single ONT |
| 81.11K-ONT140WP-R6 | DC Power Termination with back box, 10 Pack | 10 Wall plates, only one of the 10 needed per install. |
| 81.11K-BK140W-BOSCH | Bosch Enclosure install kit. |
Ensure that you have the following tools available for installation:
- Power Meter to verify input voltage and validate polarity.
- #2 Phillips head screwdriver
- T20 Torx head screwdriver
- Drill and bits for mounting of enclosure.
- Socket Wrench and 9/16" socket
- 5mm Allen wrench (supplied with enclosure)
Installation of the ONT in the Bracket Assembly
The ONT is made up of three parts:

The faceplate, the ONT, and the DC Power termination box.
The faceplate covers the fiber connections and gives a clean and finished look to the product when installed on the wall, but is not needed for this installation and should be removed and can be discarded.
The ONT and the DC power termination box are typically purchased and shipped separately. If you are using a unit that has been previously installed, it may be necessary to remove the DC Power termination box by loosening the two screws as shown.

Remove the DC Power termination box from the ONT.

The DC power termination box is designed to mount directly onto a standard electrical gang box in other installations. In this installation, the DC power termination box will be installed into the bracket provided in the kit.
Remove the optical heat sink from the bracket by removing the screw assembly so that the ONT can be placed into the bracket. The location is shown in the diagram below.

Use the screw and nut assembly provided in the kit to attach the bracket to the DC power termination box.

Reinstall the ONT into the DC power termination box pressing it in firmly to ensure the ONT is firmly seated in the box. Ensure the connector properly mates. Then screw the two screws on the upper left and bottom right of the ONT as shown in the picture above. This will mate the ONT to the DC power termination box.
Place the heat sink material on the mounting ear of the bracket as shown above after removing the protective plastic on both sides.

Add the pink thermal interface material provided in the bag to the optics case after removing the protective plastic on both sides. Flip the assembly over with the faceplate facing up and reinstall the optics heat sink from the bracket assembly using the screw assembly.
The ONT is now fully assembled into the bracket and can be placed installed into the Bosch enclosure.
Preparation of the Enclosure
Preparation of the enclosure depends on the cabinet model. Bosch manufactures 3 models of the NDA-U-PAx surveillance cabinet; the NDA-U-PA0 with no installed power supply, the NDA-U-PA1 with 120 VAC transformer and the NDA-U-PA2 with 230 VAC transformer. All models have a PCB installed. Both the PCB and power supply (if included) as well as the attaching screws must be removed from the enclosure.
NDA-U-PA0
The photo shows an NDA-U-PA0 enclosure before component removal. All 6 of the circled screws and the PCB must be removed from the enclosure.

NDA-U-PA1/NDA-U-PA2
The photo below shows the inside of an NDA-U-PA1/NDA-U-PA2 enclosure before component removal. All 8 of the circled screws, PCB, power supply and retaining bracket must be removed from the enclosure.

Installation of ONT and Heat Sink Assembly
Once the PCB has been removed, the completed ONT and heat sink assembly should be screwed into the enclosure using the two supplied screws and lock washers.

Bring in the DC power from the power supply and attach it to the pluggable Phoenix connector supplied with the ONT. Ensure the polarity is correct on the connections to the Phoenix connector and they are marked on the back of the connector.

Test the voltage on the screw terminals to ensure it is within the specified range before attaching to the ONT using a multi-meter.
Plug the power connector into the ONT at the back side of the ONT assembly.
Route the fiber along the fiber guide on the faceplate of the ONT and plug it into the fiber receptacle. Ensure that it is an SC/APC connector to match the ONT and that the fiber is SMF or Single Mode fiber.

Consult the Panorama PON Users Guide to configure the ONT on the PON and enable the ports for service.
