Equipment View
The Equipment (
) view provides a virtual view of the selected Optical Line Terminal (OLT) or remote shelf. Actual card types, provisioning of cards and shelves, properties of installed cards, and the current alarm status for individual cards can all be easily viewed.
This chapter provides an overview of the Equipment View. For additional equipment provisioning information, refer to:
Equipment View Toolbar
The table below describes the toolbar buttons available in the Equipment View.

Equipment View Indicators
The Equipment view provides a card alarm indicator for each card slot in the main distribution shelf or remote shelf. The card alarm indicator displays the most severe alarm (MSA) for the configured card or subtending card.
Card Indicators
The Equipment view depicts equipped and unequipped cards differently. An equipped card is shown with a white faceplate. An unequipped card is shown with a grey faceplate and UE icon (
) on the faceplate.
When a slot is selected, the slot border is highlighted, and a selection icon (
) appears on the card faceplate.
For Ethernet OLTs, the Equipment view displays a mismatch equipment alarm (MEA) icon (
) on the card faceplate when an installed card is incompatible with the slot provisioning.
Ethernet OLT Card LED Indicators
Ethernet OLT cards (such as the ESU and QOIU) display indicators that simulate the image of the card faceplate. However, most of these indicators are not active when viewed in the Panorama PON client. The Equipment view supports status information for the following LED indicators only:
| Ethernet Card | LED Name | LED Color | Description |
| ESU (11xx OLT shelf) | Active LED | Grey | For redundant ESUs, this is the standby ESU. |
| Green | For redundant ESUs, this is the active ESU. | ||
|
SFP-1 - SFP-6 LED and/or XFP-1 - XFP-3 LED Note: The number and type of ports is dependent on the ESU type installed. |
Dark Grey | Line down or status is unknown. | |
| Green | Configured and no alarms present. | ||
| Red | Configured with alarms present on port. | ||
| QOIU (11xx OLT shelf) | Port1 - Port4 LED | Dark Grey | Not provisioned, line down, or status is unknown. |

| TDU (Tellabs 1150 MDS5 OLT shelf) | Active LED | Grey | For redundant TDUs, this is the standby TDU. |
| Green | For redundant TDUs, this is the active TDU. |
Refreshing Indicators
In most cases, Panorama PON automatically updates the Equipment view indicators. To update the indicators, perform one of the refresh operations listed below:
- Click Refresh (
) on the toolbar. Panorama PON retrieves the latest status information from the NE and updates the indicators for all cards and slots. - Right-click the card to be refreshed and select Refresh from the drop-down menu. Panorama PON retrieves the latest status information from the NE and updates the indicators for the selected card/slot.

Note: If Panorama PON is unable to obtain the latest alarm information from the NE, Panorama PON displays an information dialog describing the update failure and displays the affected indicators in grey.
Viewing Card Information
- To view card information in the Equipment view, right-click the card.
- From the pop-up menu, select the desired menu option, and see table below for pop-up menu option descriptions.

Window Options in Equipment View
Panorama PON provides a method to minimize or maximize several windows opened in the Equipment View. The Windows menu options assist in managing multiple windows and hide or show specific views or activate a selected view. Refer to the Equipment View Toolbar above.
| Note: The Windows menu options, described in this section, are referred to in Main Menu Bar. |
The options in the Windows drop-down menu include:
- Close All Windows
- Iconify All Windows
- DeIconify All Windows

To manage multiple windows, select the Windows menu from the Main Menu bar:
- Select one or more windows each related to a selected OLT. Select each window to make it active. A check mark appears next to the active window, illustrated above.
- Select Close all Windows to close all open windows.
