Erase Database

Warning Caution: This procedure is service-affecting to the network element. The erasedb function erases the ESU User Database, Secure Socket layer (SSL) certificates, TurNup Settings, and the Provisioning database.
Information Note 1: At the ESU serial port, the user must have administrative privileges to perform this procedure. The only exception to this rule occurs when an ESU is booted with no SFP modules in the faceplate SFP slots, as described in note 2 below.
Information Note 2: When an ESU is installed without SFP modules, the local craft interface account (craft/adsl2+) is enabled. This mode is used to erase and TurNup a previously-used ESU when the previous local user accounts/passwords are not known.
The erasedb command is used to erase the ESU configuration database, user database, and/or the TurNup database. It returns the ESU to the factory initialized state. This procedure is intended only for a catastrophic failure and recovery where a replacement ESU has been installed with existing provisioning information that applies to a previous network element. This option is available only on cards that have been previously turned up.
