To install an Optical Fan Assembly (OFA1):
- If not already removed, remove the OLT6 cover by sliding the two cover latches toward the center and lifting the cover from the chassis.

Connect an approved Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) strap to a ground on the equipment rack.
Remove the OFA1 fan tray assembly (see Figure. 2) from it's packaging and inspect for any apparent damage. If any damage is noted, please contact your Tellabs Sales Representative for a replacement unit.

- Insert the OFA1 fan tray into the chassis. Slide the unit in until it engages with the connectors on the chassis backplane.
- The STAT LED on the OFA1 fan tray will illuminate RED and then transition to GREEN, indicating correct operation.
- Use a screwdriver to secure the OFA1 fan tray into the chassis.
