Use the following procedures to configure Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) parameters for the selected ONT that uses Voice over IP.

During the Add NE process, Panorama PON provides three options for the assignment of SIP host configurations for VoIP, as well as the opportunity to create several other default values (for detailed information, see table below). The option chosen during Add ONT appears in Host Configuration Type:
If MANUAL, SIP host properties for ONT voice services must be configured manually.
Once an ONT is configured for Soft Switch and is operationally enabled, it obtains an IP address, network mask, and gateway router address from the DHCP server. It then downloads the SIP/VoIP profile for the voice line from the Tellabs Configuration Server. (This profile is managed by the Tellabs Configuration Server and contains the basic call and call feature configurations for the subscriber.) After the ONT successfully retrieves the voice line profile, the SIP user agent registers with the softswitch.

Description |
| ONx Voice Personality |
Note: To provision TConfig server information for an ONT, refer to “Provisioning the Tellabs Configuration Server”. Defines the voice mode for all ports on the ONT (Voice Gateway or Soft Switch). If using the Tellabs Configuration Server (TConfig) application to manage SIP provisioning, select Soft Switch. |
| IP Host Configuration | |
|
The DHCP IP address assigned to this component. Note: This IP address must be unique per NE. If this IP address matches an IP address used for another card or an IP address in the VoIP IP address pool for this ONT, Panorama PON displays an error message. |
|
| VLAN | |
|
VLAN ID |
Specify the VLAN ID assigned for the VoIP (2-4094, avoid internally reserved VLANS 4000- 4007, 4011, and 4012). |

|
|
POTS Range Fail Wait Timer |
Specify the timer value in seconds (0-360 in 10-second increments). Default is 120 seconds. |

|
TConfig ID/Hostname |
ALERT! This entry must match the value provisioned in the TConfig Server.
Defines the SIP password that is used when authenticating the profile exchange between the ONT and the Tellabs Configuration Server. Enter up to 24 ASCII characters (mixed case and case-sensitive entries are supported). |
| User Name |
ALERT! This entry must match the value provisioned in the TConfig Server.
Defines the unique name for the Tellabs Configuration ID or hostname associated with the ONT. This identifies the ONT when communicating with the Tellabs Configuration Server. Up to 24 ASCII characters. Defaults to <this NE’s CORBA ME ID>-<this card’s AID>. (It is recommended to accept the default.) |
