Layer 3

Information Note: In the Forwarding DataBase commands, l3 is a lowercase L immediately followed by a 3. This indicates layer 3.

These fdb I2 commands are related to the mac address table. 

  • Command - fdb
  • Action - l3 (Layer-3)
    • Show Show Laye database tables
      • aid= AID to restrict display
        • NET1 | MDS1-IO1 | MDS1-1-1 | MDS1-1-1-1 | ETH1-1-1-1-1
      • ETH Display ETH entries
      • MAC-glob MAC Address glob to search
        • usage:e.g. *:01:fe, 00:1B:*:12:ef, or 00:1B:2C:* - one * with one or more byte/colon combos
      • vlan-id (vid)= VLAN of the subject MAC address
        • 1-4094 | all
    • find= Search for a specific IP entry
      • ip-address = Media Access Control (MAC) address to locate (any valid MAC address
        • Ex: 172.28.125.100
      • vlan-id (vid)= VLAN of the subject IP address
        • 1-4094 | all
    • Delete= Clears the forwarding database for a Layer-2 VLAN from the MAC table.
      • vlan-id (vid) - Layer-2 VLAN identifier is cleared

FDB Show Examples

Show the complete table (ESU and all slots).

  1. From the ESUx> command line, input fdb l3 show, and press Enter. Output similar to the following is displayed:
