Manual Backup

Warning

Caution: As a precaution, it is recommended to transfer a copy of the Panorama PON database backup and/or OLT backup files to a remote location, burn it to a CD, etc. In the event of a disaster recovery situation (refer to Panorama PON Installation and System Administration User's Guide, Disaster Recovery Procedures), the latest backup files may not be available if not copied to a remote location. 

The default Windows Server OLT backup folders is:

  • C:/Tellabs/PanoramaPON/bbmgr/server/data/FastBackupRestoreSubSystem/backup
    Information Note:  To perform this procedure, the HTTP account must be configured. Refer to HTTP Configuration

 

Panorama PON supports OLT backup to a file, which can then be restored to the OLT. To backup the OLT database:

  1. In the Common Tree, select the appropriate OLT.
  2. In the Application View Bar, click Backup Restore () icon.
  3. In the Backup Restore window, CLICK the Restore tab:

     

  4. The system generates a backup file name based on the OLT TID, followed by _Backup, date, and time: <TID>_Backup_<MMDDYY>_<HHMMSS>. For example, WprlWorld-1150-128_Backup_DEC_23_2024_10H_23M.
    Information Note: The user can change the date and time part of the generated backup file name (it must always begin with <TID_Backup>) and append additional characters to the end of the file name (up to a total filename length of 60 characters) before starting the procedure. 
  5. The user can change the date and time of the generated backup file name (it must always begin with <TID_Backup>) and append additional characters to the end of the file name (up to a total filename length of 60 characters) before starting the procedure. 
  6. Click the Start Backup button.
    Information Note: With a VPN connection the Start Backup button will go to gray during backup and will return to active after backup.  To check the status or the recent backup click on the Previous backup Status tab.
  1. Monitor the Progress bar and Status Message area. When the backup is complete, a message appears confirming the backup status.


     
  2. To view the previous backup status information, click the Previous Backup Status tab.
