Manual Restore

Warning

Caution: As a precaution, it is recommended to transfer a copy of the Panorama PON database backup and/or OLT backup files to a remote location, burn it to a CD, etc. In the event of a disaster recovery situation (refer to Panorama PON Installation and System Administration User's Guide, Disaster Recovery Procedures), the latest backup files may not be available if not copied to a remote location.

The default Windows Server NE backup folders is:

  • C:/Tellabs/PanoramaPON/bbmgr/server/data/FastBackupRestoreSubSystem/backup
Information Note:  To perform this procedure, the HTTP account must be configured. Refer to HTTP Configuration

Panorama PON supports OLT backup to a file, which can then be restored to the OLT. To back up the OLT database:

  2. In the Application View Bar, click Backup Restore () icon.
  3. In the Backup Restore window, the Restore tab automatically displays the following:

  4. Panorama PON provides the ability to restore an OLT from the database or from an OLT backup file. Proceed as follows:
  • If restoring from an OLT backup file, check the Restore from NE Backup File radio button.
  • If restoring from the database, check the Restore from EMS Database radio button.

  1. To restore from a backup, check the Restore from NE Backup File radio button.

Information Note 1: If no backup files are listed, an error message appears.
Information Note 2: The system type in the backup file must be the same as the NE system type (for example, both must be Tellabs 1150). Panorama PON displays an error and aborts the restore if the system types are different.
Information Note 3: With a connection the Start Restore button will go to gray during backup and will return to active after backup.  To check the status or the backup click on the Previous Restore Status tab.
  1. Monitor the Progress bar and Status.

  2. In the restore confirmation dialog, click the Yes button.

  3. Monitor the Progress bar and Status Message area during the restore process. When the restore is complete, a message appears and confirms the restore status.
  4. To view the Previous Restore Status information, click the Previous Restore Status tab.
