Network Issue Troubleshooter
The purpose of this troubleshooter is to help diagnose issues with networking between the EMS and OLT. Use the following procedure to troubleshoot communications.
- Verify that the ESU has Ping Enabled on the EMS GUI. This menu is reached by right clicking on the OLT and selecting Properties and then the Security Tab.

- Obtain the EMS IP from the GUI Info Screen.

- Open a command window <windows button>cmd<enter>, this may require administrative access.
Ping the gateway to ensure the EMS can communicate within the local subnet. If the ping fails, you need to contact your local administrator to resolve the networking issue.

- If the EMS can ping the EMS' Network Gateway, attempt to ping the ESU IP. The OLT IP can be found by right-clicking on the OLT.

- If you can ping the ESU IP, then this is not a network problem and is a problem with ESU software or hardware.
- If you cannot ping the ESU IP, try pinging the ESU Gateway IP. This is typically the same subnet as the ESU, but the last digit ending in .1
- If you cannot ping the ESU's Network Gateway of the subnet in which the OLT resides, there is a networking issue in the network between the EMS and ESU and you should consult your local IT to address the issue.
