Access Violation Description

Probable Cause: Access Violation

SNMP/TL1 Type: ETH-ACCESS

Description: This alarm is signaled whenever a user port has in some way violated the configured policy for that port.  This includes many of the traditional err-disable types of violations in addition to other violations supported by the PON infrastructure.  The specific information about the Access Violation will be shown in the additional text along with information about that specific Access Violation Type.


 

Violation Type Description Trouble Clearing Practice
ACL Mode The ACL mode has been changed and cannot be applied without a reboot of the PON card. Reboot the OLT so that the ACLs can be re-applied.
BPDU Guard
 
BPDUs have been detected on the port.  It is typically an error for switches to be placed below the OLT. Access Violation: BPDU Guard
Excessive Arrivals An ONT has arrived at the PON too many times in a short interval.  The ONT has been eSTOPed Access Violation: Excessive Arrivals
Link Flap This occurs when the port is rapidly getting link up/link down indications, causing the port to be disabled.   Typically, a hardware or wiring problem. Access Violation: Link Flap
 
Loopback Violation A port has detected a downstream packet that has been looped backup upstream. Access Violation: Loopback Violation
Max MAC Violation The Maximum MACs configured for the port has been exceeded. Access Violation Max MACs Violation
Max Supplicant Violation The configured number of supplicants on the port is exceeded.

Port Security 
 
A sticky MAC has been determined to have moved within the OLT and is attempting access to a different port. Access Violation : Port Security
RSTP Root Protect An ONT UNI port has attempted to become the root port which is always an error. Access Violation: RSTP Root Protect
