LED Indicators

LED Indicators

  • STAT - Shows operational status of the system
  • PON 1-8 Link and signal Loss LINK - Indicates the optical status of attached ONTs

OIU8 LED Behavior

LED Indications Comments
STAT - System Status

Red Solid

Upon insertion, the STAT LED illuminates red solid while the card performs internal power-up diagnostics. Upon completion of initialization, the STAT LED illuminates solid GREEN.

Green Blink Fast When the STAT LED indication is green, blinking fast (Initializing), the LED blinks at a ½ second (½ second on, ½ second off) duty cycle to indicate the unit is currently in the process of initializing.
Green Blink Slow When the STAT LED indication is green blinking slow (Downloading), the LED blinks at a 1-second duty cycle (1 second on, 1 second off).
Green Solid When the STAT LED indication is green solid (Operational), the Unit is up,
Dark When the STAT LED indication is dark, the power is off.
PON Low Signal - Indicates the power status of the PON

Green Solid When the PON Low Signal LED indication is green sold, it indicates that All ranged ONT serial numbers are above the SD threshold. This LED shall not indicate the state of any missing or unexpected ONTs. The Intent of this state is to indicate that the optical quality is good for all ranged ONTs.

Amber Solid

When the PON Low Signal LED indication is amber solid, it indicates that one or more Ranged ONT serial numbers have crossed the SD BER threshold. This state indicates that for the ranged ONTs, maintenance is required on the PON.

Red Solid

When the PON Low Signal LED indication is red solid, it indicates that all provisioned ONTs are below SF. This can be measured by all being in a failed/LOPL-LOS state. The intent is that this LED go red when there is no received signal on the PON or all received signals are below SF.
Dark

When the PON Low Signal LED indication is dark, it indicates that no ONTs have been provisioned on the PON. Unexpected ONTs are ignored.
PON Link -
Indicates the optical status of the PON

Green Solid

When the PON Link LED indication is green solid, it indicates that all Provisioned ONT serial numbers are ranged on the PON and there are no unexpected ONTs. The state of the PON is good.
Yellow Solid When the PON Link LED indication is yellow solid, it indicates that at least one provisioned serial number exists and has failed (LOPL-LOS) or one or more unexpected ONTs have been detected on the PON.
Red Solid

When the PON Link LED indication is red solid, it indicates that all provisioned ONT serial numbers are failed.
Dark When the PON Link LED indication is dark, it indicates that no ONT serial numbers are provisioned on the PON and no unexpected ONTs are detected on the PON.
