OLT Wizards
There are two Wizards that streamline the addition of new OLTs to the system. The two wizards significantly decrease the time to add and turn up OLTs. In many cases ONTs can be set up to be automatically accepted into the system and added to the system.
Two wizards in the Tools menu of the EMS:
- OLT Commissioning Wizard
- Add OLT Wizard
| Note: The OLT Commissioning Wizard is typically only run prior to the creation of the first OLTs. his Wizard sets up all the default profiles to be applied going forward. If you change the default profiles after OLTs are added, they will be affected if they are using that profile. The EMS pushes any modified profiles to all OLTs when it detects the change. |
Commissioning Wizard and Add OLT Functionality
The OLT Commissioning Wizard is used to set up all the default profiles and settings that are common to all OLTs. It also defines all the ONT Templates which give the default configuration to be applied to the ONT when it is created by the system.
The Add OLT Wizard is used for several functions. It will update all the default profiles on the OLT, so it gets the settings defined in the Commissioning Wizard. It will then define the VLAN schema and communicate it to the OLT so that when ONTs are created, they will get the VLAN rules applied to the ports on the ONTs. It also defines the service profiles to be applied and creates the uplinks based on user input.
