ONT Fan Failure

Description

Signaled when the ONT has detected the failure of a fan within the ONT. This alarm indicates that the ONT is likely to begin overheating. This can typically dramatically shorten the lifespan of the ONT.

Preconditions(s)

ONT is equipped with a FAN. At the current time this only applies to the ONT729GP.

Trouble Clearing

The probable cause of this alarm is: 

• ONT has detected that a fan has failed and the temperature of the ONT is being affected by the loss of the fan. The ONT fan should be inspected to ensure there are no obstructions in the fan that are preventing the fan from operating normally. If the fan is unobstructed, the ONT should be replaced as the fan is integral to ensuring proper operation of the ONT and ensuring it does not fail prematurely.
