ONT LAN Loss of Signal
Description
Signaled to indicate that an Ethernet Link is not present on one of the ONT Ethernet ports. The last digit of the alarm AID indicates which Ethernet port has failed. This alarm may indicate a problem and is typically only used on high priority subscribers as a warning in the event of a port failure.
Unless this is a high priority port, this alarm can be ignored or disabled.
It should be noted that this alarm is not present unless a cross-connect exists on the Ethernet port. Service must be on the port and the ONT properly registered before the alarm is active.
Precondition(s)
No ACPWR-LOS exists - No power alarms exists in the ONT that would indicate an AC power outage. If an ACPWR-LOS alarm exists (refer to ONT AC Power Failure), this alarm should be addressed first as this is the likely source of the ONT-LAN-LOS alarm.
Trouble Clearing
- Port Disconnected at the ONT: The customer has disconnected the equipment from the ONT Ethernet port, has rebooted the router/gateway, or power has been lost at the home.
- Loss of AC Power at the ONT: If power has been lost in the home, indicated by an ACPWR-LOS alarm, then loss of commercial AC power may be the cause.
| Note: The ONT eventually shuts off this port and clears the alarm while on bat-tery to conserve power. Refer to ONT AC Power Failure ACP-WR-LOS. |
