ONT LOPL LOF

Description

The OLT is able to see traffic from the ONT but is not able to frame on the ONTs signal. Declared when the GPON receives 4 consecutive invalid delimiters from an ONT. This alarm is cleared when the GPON successfully receives frame delineation from the ONT, and the ONT is in the operating state. This alarm typically occurs when there is a problem with the ONT hardware or laser or there is too much attenuation, either due to the fiber distance or issues with a splitter or a fiber splice.

Trouble Clearing

The probable causes of this alarm are: 

• ONT Problem 1: It is possible that there is an optical problem with the fiber between the OLT and ONT.
• ONT Problem 2: It is possible that there is a hardware problem on the ONT that is causing this problem.
