  • MG1 (10G) - Muti-gig service port supporting 10G/5G/2.5G/1G/100M speeds.
  • MG2 (2.5G) - Multi-gig service port supporting 2.5G/1G/100M speeds.

The ONT202 provides up to 120W of PoE power. It is plenum rated with a metal enclosure and features an integrated fiber management system.

Industrial temperature tolerance and high PoE capacity make the ONT202 well suited to support outdoor Wi-Fi and IP surveillance cameras.

The ONT202 supports multiple mounting options including direct mount on a double gang electrical box and DIN rail flush mount. An optional bracket is available for wall and under-surface mounting. An optional plenum bracket supports mounting the ONT202 above ceilings and in other plenum spaces. The ONT202 can also be rack mounted using an optional shelf and bracket for higher density applications.

The ONT202 supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) standards IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at, 802.3bt (4PPoE), and Cisco UPOE® (Universal Power over Ethernet). It can deliver up to 120W (2x60W) of PoE when powered by the 150W AC wall adapter, 60W of PoE when powered by the 75W AC wall and up to 90W of PoE when powered remotely.

The ONT202 can be deployed with the Tellabs OLT1150/OLT1150E, OLT1134AC, FlexSym OLT1, FlexSym OLT2, FlexSym OLT6, FlexSym BOLT, and the FlexSym OLT-mini Plus optical line terminals.

Security

Tellabs has implemented unique advanced security features to protect enterprise networks. The ONT202 supports security across the optical distribution network and end-to-end over the OLAN system, such as encryption of traffic on the PON using the Advanced Encryption Standard AES-128 and Access Control Lists (ACL) at Layer 2 through 4 levels.

The ONT supports advanced dynamic assignment of services to a port via the use of Network Access Control (NAC) with fall back to a Guest VLAN. The ONT supports IEEE 802.1x port-based authentication and MAB. This prevents unauthorized access to ports and offers RADIUS authentication for users and distribution of policy to end users based on their login.

Connectors and Indicators

Connectors

The back edge of the FlexSym ONT202 has 5 connectors:

  • XGS-PON Optical Connector - Optical port to connect the ONT to the upstream Optical Line Terminal (OLT) over fiber-optic cable. It is a standard SC/APC-type connector for Single-Mode Fiber (SMF). The connector is protected by a small, black plastic insert in shipping.
  • MG2 (2.5G) - Multi-gig service port supporting 2.5G/1G/100M speeds.
  • MG1 (10G) - Multi-gig service port supporting 10G/5G/2.5G/1G/100M speeds.
  • DC 54V - DC power input. This is a power connector that mates with a Phoenix-type pluggable terminal connector (5.08 mm pitch 2P), allowing remote bulk DC power to be used. Remote DC power is limited to 100 VA by NEC electrical code for class 2 low voltage connections.

Indicators

The top of the ONT has the following LED indicators near the front edge:

  • MG2 - shows status of the 2.5G multi-rate service port
  • MG1 - shows status of the 10G multi-rate service port
  • XGS-PON - shows status of the 10G Symmetrical - Passive Optical Network (XGS-PON)
  • Power - shows status of the DC power input
