Get HTTP Logs

httpgetlogs 

The httpgetlogs command is used to gather and retrieve NE system logs via HTTP.  Executing the httpgetlogs command will enable access to the web server to generate and retrieve logs as shown below.  You should close the port when complete, but it will close on its own after two hours.

  • Command - httpgetlogs
  1. From the ESUx> prompt input httpgetlogs, and press Enter. The following IPv4 and IPv6 messages are displayed. <HTTP:// (IPv4) or (IPv6)> will be filled in with a specific IP address followed by a 4 digit port number.

You have 2 hours to retrieve the logs files using
the web interface.

Point your web browser to:
http://172.28.152.202:5436 (uplink) http://fc00:dead:dead:152:2c0:9bff:fe02:79e:5436 (uplink)
and login as logs/tellabs.

Retrieve the Logs

  1. Open a browser window and enter the uplink IP address in the address bar, and press Enter. The Welcome to the NE Web Server screen is displayed.

  1. Click Enter the NE Logging Service.

  2. If required, login using the default login "logs" and password "tellabs." Click OK.

  3. After a few minutes, the NE generates a list of boards in the system. This list of boards is displayed in a drop down list next to the Get logs button. Click on the down arrow to see the list.

    Information Note: Only Ethernet Switch Units (ESU) and Quad Optical Interface Units (QOIUx) are supported.

  1. If required, login to the NE using the default login "logs" and default password "tellabs." Click OK While the logs are being collected, the message "Please wait while log tarball is generated......." is displayed. When the logs have been collected, the following browser screen is displayed. In the browser display, click Get Logs.

  1. A File Download dialog is displayed.

  1. In the File Download dialog, select the Save radio button. The file goes into the local Downloads folder.

Information Note: If Internet Explorer is the current browser, the file extension defaults to ".tar." Change it to ".tgz"
 
  1. When the file has been saved, close the browser window to terminate the HTTP session.
  2. Execute closehttpports. See closehttpports.
