PON CIR Oversubscription Upstream
Description
Occurs when the user has provisioned the system such that the total of all Committed Information Rates (CIRs) configured on the PON, in the downstream direction, exceeds the PON bandwidth. This results in a PON CIR Oversubscribed alarm. It informs the user that a smaller CIR must be used or to split the PON as bursting of Unspecified Bit Rate (UBR) traffic is not allowed on the PON.
Trouble Clearing
The probable causes of this alarm are:
- PON is oversubscribe in the upstream direction.
- Decrease the UBR subscription rates on the PON.
- Split the PON.
