SIP CSRV - Cannot Authenticate

Description

Indicates that the ONT attempted to go to the TConfig server an obtain Softswitch voice line provisioning but was unable to authenticate with TConfig. When the device goes to the TConfig server, the service challenges it for username and password credentials. If they do not match the provisioned credentials, TConfig denies the request. This causes the line not to be provisioned and go into service.

Pre-Conditions(s)

  • Line must be in Softswitch mode for this alarm to occur.
  • Using External TConfig.

Trouble Clearing

The probable causes of this alarm are:

  • Username/password mismatch in the ONT.
  • This problem can only occur with external TConfig installations, where the TConfig server is installed as a separate application on a Linux server. This configuration is no longer supported after FP25.4. Transition the external TConfig Server to the internal EMS TConfig server.
  • If this problem is encountered on an installation using the internal EMS TConfig server, contact Tellabs Technical Assistance Center (refer to Contacting Technical Support.
