Templates

The ONT template allows the user to pick the template to be applied to all ONTs. The template is a list of ONT types and configuration rules to be applied to the ONTs. Typically, the default profile will be used for all OLTs, but the template concept allows different templates to be created and selected. Users can apply their own settings and upon creation of an ONT of the specified type, the template attributes are applied.

Use the following procedure to assess the template attributes and associated rules:

1. Open a Panorama PON (EMS) session, click on the Tools tab and select Template from the dropdown List. The Template dialog is displayed.
   
   
    
2. The Template dialog is displayed. 
   
   
    
3. The template tool has the following function tabs.
   • Ethernet Port
   • ONT 
4. To access a template function, click on one of the following icons:
   1. () Create (Ethernet Port, Equipment Selector)
   2. () Clone (ONT, Equipment Selector) 
   3. () Edit (Ethernet Port, Equipment Selector, NE) 
   4. () Delete (Ethernet Port, ONT, Equipment Selector)
   5. () Refresh (All)
5. A second way to access a template function is to right-click in the Template Names list, and use the pop-up menu, to select a function.
