Unexpected ONTs

Information Note: Unexpected ONTs cannot be activated until they are provisioned.

Access to Unexpected ONTs is located on the OLTSlot and PON Port Menu Bar.

Information Note: The Menu Bar will indicate when Unexpected ONTs are present by showing a superscript number of the quantity of Unexpected ONTs.


 

EDIT

There are two ways to Edit Unexpected ONTs before registration:


 

  • Edit - Edit ONTs one at a time
  • Bulk Edit - Edit ONTs from a group display

Single Edit

Before assigning the ONT, the Action Edit button allows the user to edit a single Unexpected OLT.


 

There are three fields that can be edited before the ONT assignment.


 

  • Assigned ONT Id - Up down arrows to increase or decrease the ONT ID number.
  • To Configure - Select Y or N to configure ONT
  • User Label - add alphanumerical name to ONT

To Edit a single Unexpected ONT for a PON port (GPON port):

  1. Go to Devices and select an OLT (e.g. WprlWorld 1150), click Unexpected ONTS on the Menu Bar, a list of Unexpected ONTS is displayed.


     
  2. Select the ONT to edit and click on the Edit button then input the ONT ID (e.g.13), select Y to configure, and add a User Label (e.g. Cubical 4) to the ONT. Click on the Save button to register the ONT parameters.


     
  3. Repeat steps 1 - 2 for any additional ONTs.

Bulk Edit

Before assigning the ONT, the Bulk Edit button allows the user to edit a list of Unexpected OLTs.


 

There are three fields that can be edited before the ONT assignment.


 

  • Assigned ONT Id - Up down arrows to increase or decrease the ONT ID number.
  • To Configure - Select Y or N to configure ONT
  • User Label - add alpha-numerical name to ONT

To Bulk Edit Unexpected ONTs for a PON port (GPON port):

  1. Go to Devices and select an OLT (e.g. WprlWorld 1150), click Unexpected ONTS on the Menu Bar, a list of Unexpected ONTS is displayed. Click on the Bulk Edit button to Edit the displayed ONTs


     
  2. Check the ONT to edit and then input the ONT ID (e.g.12), select Y to configure, and add a User Label (e.g. Cubical 12) to the ONT. Click on the Save button to save the ONT parameters.
  3. Repeat steps 1 - 2 for any additional ONTs.

Assign ONTs

To view and assign Unexpected ONTs to a PON port (GPON port):

  1. Go to Devices and select an OLT (e.g. WprlWorld 1150), click Unexpected ONTS on the Menu Bar, a list of Unexpected ONTS is displayed.


     
  2. Click on the Edit or Bulk Edit button to edit the ONT ID, configure Y/N, and add a User Label to the ONTs. Click on the Save button to load the new ONT parameters.
  3. Click on the Assign ONTs button to assign the ONTs.
  4. After the ONT and its parameters have been registered, a success message is displayed.
