Description

The Dual 180C Mounting bracket is a mounting bracket specifically designed to allow two ONT180 ONTs to be placed in a small area by stacking one on top of the other while preserving adequate airflow, visibility to LEDs, and clearance for cabling.

The mounting bracket is typically deployed in conjunction with a power supply mounting bracket and DC Power Y Cable to enable powering both ONTs with a single 140W power supply.

Dual 180C Mounting Bracket Part Numbers

The following part numbers are used in this configuration:

  • Universal ONT Mounting Bracket (81.11K-BKTONTCONV)
  • ONT Power Supply Y Cable Assembly (81.11K-M8YCBL)
  • Dual 180C ONT Mounting Bracket (81.11K--BK180CDUAL)
  • Power Supply Mounting Bracket (81.11K-BKONTPS150)

Dual 180C Mounting Bracket Preparation

The following tools will be needed for this installation:

  • Phillips Head Screw Driver
  • Drill and Phillips Head Driver bit
  • 4x Wood screws for mounting to the backboard or wall.

The Dual 180C Mounting Bracket contains the following parts:

  • Dual 180C Mounting Bracket
  • 8 x 1/2" #8 Screws
  • 2 x 7/16" #8 Plastite screws

Dual 180C Mounting Bracket Installation

The following steps should be followed for the Dual 180C Mounting Bracket Installation.

  1. Prepare the Universal ONT Interface Bracket to enable mounting of the ONT to the interface bracket by adding screws to the following locations.  Two 7/16" #4 Plastite screws should be used. The screws should be left slightly raised with 1/8" of a gap to allow the ONT to be mounted on the Interface Bracket:

  2. Mount the Universal ONT Interface Bracket to the Dual 180C Mounting Bracket using 4x 1/2" Plastite #8 screws in the following locations:

  3. Mount the Dual 180C Mounting Bracket with #6 screws to the wall ensuring that you leave sufficient space for the power supply and mounting bracket and cable and fiber routing.

  1. Place the power supply in the Power Supply Mounting Bracket and mount the power supply and bracket to the wall near the Dual 180C Mounting bracket using the 4 screws in the indicated positions to mount the bracket.

  2. Mate the power supply output cable to the ONT Power Supply Y cable and route it over to near the two ONT180 locations.  Attach the right angle AC power cable to the ONT power supply.

  3. Attach the 180Cs to the Dual 180C Mounting Bracket by pushing the ONT down over the screws that were placed into the Universal ONT Interface Bracket, then slide the ONT in the indicated direction to lock the ONT onto the interface bracket ensuring that the finger on the right clicks to lock the ONT in place.

  4. Attach the Fiber to each of the ONTs ensuring that the fiber does not exceed the minimum bend radius of the fiber.

Warning Warning: Exceeding the minimum bend radius of the fiber can damage the fiber and degrade the optical signal and can permanently damage the fiber.
Warning Warning: When securing the fiber ensure the zip tie is not fully tightened down as this can damage the fiber and degrade the optical signal. The ties should be loose and simply guide the fiber.
  5. Plug in the power cable from the Y cable adapter into each ONT.  The ONTs should power up and the LEDs should light up.    See completed assembly below:

  6. Proceed with normal ONT turnup procedures.
