Scheduled Software Download

Note: The Software Update file must be downloaded prior to scheduling the SW download. (Go to Download EMS/OLT Software to download the required software.)

It is recommended to perform a Scheduled Software Download to perform the download task and that the download be performed within a software maintenance window. 

WARNING: The download may cause momentary interruptions of EMS connectivity, STP or LACP while writing to flash. This is not typically service affecting, but can result in alarms. Using the scheduled download function of the EMS allows the download to be performed during off hours when this would not affect normal operations.

Scheduled download can be performed from the EMS Tools menu of the GUI:

1. Select the Tools tab from the Tool Bar, then click the Scheduler Icon from the dropdown list.
   
   
2. Right-click the Edit Icon from the Task Scheduler menu.
   
   
3. The New Task window will be displayed.
   
   
    
4. Input the Task Name (i.e. maintenance-window-backup), select OLT SW Download from the Task Type dropdown list.
5. From the Start Time window, select the Date from the calendar and the Time from the dropdown list to establish a download during the maintenance window.
6. Select the required software update from the Download File dropdown list.
7. Select the Frequency of One Time and click on the Apply button.
8. The software will now be downloaded to the OLT during the configured window.
