Custom Installation

 The steps in this section demonstrate the Custom Installation process.

  1. The Default or Custom Install dialog is displayed.


     
  2. Select Custom and click on the Next button to continue.
  3. The Enable Secured Connection Between EMS Client and Server dialog is displayed.


     
  4. If a Secured Connection solution is required (recommended), check Secured Connection. If not, leave it unchecked and click on the Next button.
  5. The Deployment Options dialog is displayed.


     
  6. If an Optical LAN solution is required, leave Optical LAN checked. If not, uncheck it and click on the Next button.
  7. The Multiple Tenant Access Control window is displayed.
  8. If a Multiple Tenant Access solution is required, check Multiple Tenant Access Control. If not, leave it unchecked and click on thebutton. 
  9.   The Enable Integrated TConfig dialog is displayed.


     
  10.  If TConfig is required, check the checkbox. If not, leave it unchecked and click on the Next button.
     
    Information Note: Enabling Integrated TConfig for a Custom installation makes Tconfig available to all NEs on this server. To enable TConfig on an individual NE, see Tellabs 1100 Series Optical LAN Managing the PON User’s Guide, Provisioning the Tellabs Configuration Server for an NE.
  11. The Select IP Addresses dialog is displayed.
    Information Note: The version of the Select IP Addresses dialog that appears is dependent on the number and types of Network Interface Cards (NICs) physically installed on the platform and whether Integrated TConfig was enabled or not.

     
  12. Select IP addresses, then click on the Next button. 
    • In the Select IP Addresses dialog, if TConfig is enabled but will use the same IP address as the Management address, verify the Select a Management Address and the Select a TConfig Address fields are identical.
    • If TConfig is enabled but the TConfig IP address is to be different from the Management IP address, click the drop downs and select the correct IP address for each one.
    • If TConfig is not enabled, only the Select a Management Address field appears.
  13. The Specify RMI Ports dialog is displayed.


     
  1. Change the ports listed, if necessary, otherwise, accept the defaults (recommended), and click on the Next button. 
  2. The Choose Install Folder dialog is displayed. 


     
  1. Click on the Next button to accept the default (recommended) or click on the Choose button to select a different destination folder.
  2. Database Selection - Which database would you like to use? Dialog is displayed.


     
  3. Click on the PostgreSQL button. 
    Information Note: Instructions for using Oracle as the database are covered in Oracle Installations.
  • The default Postgres database parameters are:
    • Default users: pon_owner, pon_user
    • Passwords: pon_owner, pon_user
    • Default Superuser (postgres): postgres
    • Password: tellabs
    • Default Postgres Connection Parameters:
      • Database SID: EMS
      • Database IP: <hostname ip>
      • Database Port: 5432     
  1. The Specify the Postgres Home Folder dialog is displayed
    Information Note: The installation program defaults to postgres as the Home Folder and data as the database folder.


 

  1. Click on then Next button to accept the default Home Folder or enter another location, as needed.
  2. The Specify the Postgres Data Folder dialog is displayed for a database folder.  


     
  3. Click on the Next button to accept the default data folder or enter another location, as needed.
  4. The following dialog is displayed while the configuration is running.

  5. After configuration, the Get User ID dialog is displayed for a Superuser password.


     
  6. Enter the Password and click on Next to accept your password or enter another password, as needed.
  7. The PostgreSQL Database Connections Parameters dialog is displayed.


     
  8. Click on the Next button  to accept the default values or enter other information, as needed.  
  1. The Database User Account Parameters dialog is displayed.




     
  2. Click on the Next button to accept the default passwords, or enter other passwords, as needed.
    Information Note: If Postgres has not been previously installed, there will be some additional dialogs at this point prompting for user credentials. This will happen only once.
  3. The PostgreSQL Connection Error dialog is displayed. 


     
  4. Click on the  Create Users button to re-enter the user credentials.
  5. The Pre-Installation Summary dialog is displayed. Scroll through the Summary and verify the information is correct. 


     
  6. If the Summary information is correct, click on the Install button.
    1. If the Summary information is not correct, click on the Previous button to go back to the screen that needs to be corrected.
    2. When everything is correct, click on the Install button.
  7. The Installation Please Wait dialog is displayed while installing Panorama PON


     
  8. After Panorama PON is installed, the Start Tellabs Panorama PON Services dialog is displayed.
  9.  Click on the Yes buttonbutton to start the Panorama PON EMS services in the background.
  10. The Install Complete dialog is displayed.


     
  11. Click on the Done button to complete the installation.
  12. Panorama PON Services are running and ready to start.
