Edit
After a PON Protection Group (PPG) has been created, the parameters of the PPG will be set by assigning which PONs will be paired for the protection. The Edit command is used to set the working relationships to a set of paired PONs.

- type= - PON Protection Group Type, QOIU7 ONLY supports type-b-splitter, OIU8 only supports type-b-nonrevertive

- vid= - vlan id used for sync protocol, the sync protocol allows the two OLTs to exchange configuration and real time status data to keep them in sync, this includes authentication status, macs learned, etc. This must be a layer2 vlan that goes between the two OLTs.

Add configuration data to a PPG
- From the ESUx> command line, input interface pon protection-group edit name=testone and press Enter. Output similar to the following is displayed:
