Panorama PON EMS Server and Client Security
Security is becoming increasingly important. Read the following information carefully.
| Alert! The Windows Panorama PON EMS uses the Mozilla NSS (Network Security Services) libraries for security. Other Windows applications may use other versions of the NSS libraries that have been known to cause installation and operational problems with the Panorama PON EMS. The symptoms involve errors regarding Windows DLL files. An example of one of these errors is:" The procedure entry point PK11_ListFixedKeysInSlot could not be located in the dynamic link library nss3.dll" |
If errors like this are encountered during installation and/or operation, steps should be taken to uninstall the application and/or remove the DLLs that are causing the problem. The DLLs in question are: nsldap32v50.dll, nsldappr32v50.dll, nsldapssl32v50.dll, nss3.dll, ssl3.dll. If the offending application cannot be identified, the DLLs must be manually removed in order for Panorama PON EMS to install and function correctly. The conflicting DLLs are usually in the C:WINDOWSsystem32 or c:WindowsSysWOW64 folders.
| Caution: If the dll error symptom is encountered during the installation or operation of Panorama PON EMS, it is an indication that the current installation is invalid. Panorama PON EMS (Server and/or Client) should be uninstalled after the DLLs mentioned above have been removed. The host should then be rebooted and Panorama PON EMS server and/or client re-installed. |
