Port Security

Description

The Port Security Access Violation will be alarmed when a sticky MAC has been determined to have moved from the port where it was originally learned. This alarm is used to detect equipment being moved within the OLT. The following alarm will be reported if a Port Security Violation is detected. The alarm will indicate the MAC address that has been learned as a sticky MAC and then perform a station move. The MAC will be blocked on the new port, and the port will remain enabled.

The Port Security Access Violation alarm is not configurable and will be reported on any sticky MAC that reports a station move. A message in the Alarm details will detail the alarm as shown below.

Information Additional Text: <Port security> Address: <00:12:07:08:01:01> exists on port ETH1-10-1-2-3. Security Violation caused by an attempted move to port ETH1-10-2-1-1.

Trouble Clearing

To clear the alarm:

  • Reassign the equipment to the new location by clearing the sticky mac on the original port.
  • Move the equipment back to its original location
