Restoring by Installing the EMS and adding the OLTs

Perform the following procedure to recover the EMS and add the OLTs. The following warning should be considered fully before performing this procedure.

Warning: The following procedure should not be used when a Voice Gateway, T-Config, or PPG is in use as all voice connections and profile data will be lost.

1. Duplicate the OS network environment on the repaired host server. The platform, Hostname, and IP address(es) must be identical to the failed system. Verify both servers are not on the network at the same time once they have been assigned the same IP address.
2. If the Oracle database was used, the Oracle database must be re-installed, and the release must be identical to that of the failed system.
3. Reinstall the EMS on the repaired host server. The EMS version must be identical to the EMS version on the failed system.
4. Add the OLTs to the EMS using the option to read provisioning data from the NE. See Managing OLTs: Adding OLTs in the Tellabs 1100 Series Optical LAN Managing the PON User Guide.
5. Review the EMS data and manually enter required missing user data not recovered from the OLTs.
