SIP UA Register - Server Failure Response
Description
Indicates an attempt was made to register with the Softswitch and an error has been received from the registration, other than a timeout (no response) or an authentication failure (incorrect username/password).
The registration process on the switch binds the IP address of the ONT to the phone number configured on the line. If this process is not successfully completed, the customer cannot make phone calls.
Pre-Conditions(s)
The line must be in Softswitch mode for this alarm to occur.
Trouble Clearing
The probable causes of this alarm are:
- Off Normal Problem on Softswitch: It is possible that a problem exists within the switch that is affecting registrations. Examine the Softswitch alarms and error reports to see if any off normal conditions exist and resolve them.
- Softswitch Issue on ONT: If the problem is not found to be an issue with the Softswitch, contact Tellabs Technical Assistance Center for investigation of the issue (refer to Contacting Technical Support).
