Software License Keys

The Panorama PON software license key feature packages can be purchased directly from Tellabs. The base software package is required for all systems and is available upon installing ems. No license key purchase is required for the basic software package. However, some menus and options will be unavailable based on user permissions/roles. A license key is required to activate additional enhanced software packages, such as: Security, Availability and Operations software packages, listed in the table below.

Activating and Using License Key from Zip File

To obtain and use the zip file from Tellabs, follow these instructions:

1. Obtain the distributed <hostname> zip file from Tellabs
2. Copy the zip file into a location that the PON EMS Server has access to.
3. Start and launch the EMS.
4. Use the EMS logon to log into the system.
5. From the Main Menu Toolbar, go to File > Import License.
6. Use Look In to locate the folder where the zip file is stored. The folder name will appear in the
   File Name field, as displayed below.
    
   
    
7. Click the Import License button.
8. A message will prompt to restart Panorama PON EMS.
9. Stop and then restart both the Client and Server from your desktop.
   
   
    
10. The license key file will be activated.
11. Go to Help > About > Features using the Main Menu Toolbar to view existing features for the activated license key.
