Status Codes

The following table describes each of the Status Codes that can be displayed in the Status Code field. The displayed code represents the current status of the selected ONT and a method of clearing the alarm, where appropriate.

Status Code Meaning Troubleshooting
MEA Mismatch Equipment - Indicates that the type of actual ONT with the designated serial number does not match the provisioned ONT type. Check provisioning to make sure that the provisioned ONT type and serial number match the actual ONT.
ACTV Active - Indicates that the ONT is operational. None
INACT Inactive - Indicates that the ONT is inactive (not provisioned). None or provision the ONT.
OOR Out of Range - Indicates that the selected ONT is out of range of the PON.

Either:

  1. Remove excess fiber
  2. Move the ONT to a PON that can reach it or
  3. Use the increased reach PON setting

After correcting the range problem, manually set the ONT e-stop mode to "on" then back to "off".

OOS Out of Service - Indicates that the ONT is not communicating with the OLT. Ensure that the ONT is powered up and the fiber connection is good.
PREPROV Pre-Provisioned - Indicates that the ONT has been provisioned but has not been detected on the PON since the last QOIU7 reboot. Ensure that the ONT is powered up and the fiber connection is good.
ESTOPON

Emergency Stop On - Indicates that the ONT has been intentionally placed in a non-responsive state. This can be done automatically if:

  1. the ONT is out of range or
  2. the ONT is rapidly oscillating in and out of service.
Manually set the eStop mode to "on" and then back to "off". If the ONT returns to estop automatically, cycle power on the ONT and try again. If the problem continues, replace the ONT.
