Update Login Banner
- The login banner is typically used to insert a legal warning against misuse of the system. Additionally, most organizations want the user to accept a legal statement before proceeding to the login process. The success or failure of this activity is logged.
- The login banner file is an ASCII text file (banner.txt) located on the server at:
/opt/panoramapon/bbmgr/server/data/Security
- The banner is what is displayed when accessing the OLT via Telnet or the Craft User Interface (CUI), (refer to "Tellabs 1100 Series Optical LAN Craft User Interface User’s Guide").
- The default banner.txt file is blank.
Use the following procedure to change the contents of banner.txt:
- Log onto the Panorama PON server.
- At an emsadmin> prompt, navigate to:
c:/opt/tellabs/panoramapon/bbmgr/server/data/Security
- Or, if there was an upgrade from INM to Panorama PON, navigate to:
c:opt/afc/panoramapon/bbmgr/server/data/Security..
- Open banner.txt in an ASCII text editor, (i.e., vi, Notepad, etc.)
- Edit the contents as desired for all OLTs or a specific OLT.
- Save and close banner.txt.
Use the following procedure to update the login banner globally for all the OLTs on the Panorama PON server:
- From the Main Menu, select Edit > Update Login Banner. The Login Banner message is displayed:

- Click Yes to update the login banner on all Tellabs 1100/OLT Series NEs. The Status for Update Login Banner ls displayed with a list of OLTs not updated.

- Click on the Close button when the update is complete.
