Disable/Enable SNMP Agent

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) can be used to monitor and report OLT alarms. The software upgrade process involves card reboots, temporary traffic loss and other events that will result in a number of generated alarms.

For customers using SNMP with their ticketing system, disabling the SNMP can prevent misleading trouble tickets during the upgrade.

  1. Disable/Enable SNMP.
Information Note: This is optional. Disabling SNMP can prevent misleading alarms during the upgrade process.
  2. Right-click the OLT in the Common Tree and select Properties from the dropdown menu.

  3. Select the SNMP tab in the popup window and click the Enable/Disable SNMP Agent button.
  4. After the Enable/Disable SNMP Agent   button greys out, click on the Apply button.

  5. Click the Close button to dismiss the OLT properties popup window.
